Cavalrymen are still distinguished by their unique cavalry hats, but today the spurs are awarded only to deserving troopers of the cavalry who earn them. In other words, the Prince o Wales spurs are a treasured “Badge of Honor”.

A spur ride is a series of rigorous physical, professional, and technical activities that the men have to complete. The completion of a Spur Ride recognizes the trooper’s leadership skills and excellence in the cavalry unit. Miller Hats offers 2 types of Military Spurs. The Silver spurs and the gold combat spurs. Both of them are available in a 3/4″ regulation shank and with a 3/8″ leather band to attach them to the boot.

The chrome plated silver Prince of Wales Military Spurs are awarded to those who have completed the Spur Ride. The Combat Prince of wales spurs in gold are only awarded to those who complete a combat tour of duty and has already received the silver spur from successfully completing the Spur Ride.
